Designed for you to save and be efficient with your budget, this unforgettable trek includes pick-up from Lovina, Ubud, and Sanur in Bali. The journey runs in the evening until your return at next day.
Kawah Ijen, home to the stunning turquoise crater lake and iconic blue flames, is located in Banyuwangi, East Java.
The adventure starts with pick-up in Lovina at 10:00 PM (22:00). The journey includes a 1.5 hour drive to Gilimanuk Harbor, a 1.5 hour ferry ride across the Bali Strait, and an additional 1.5 hour drive to Paltuding (Ijen parking area base camp).
The Paltuding gate opens at 2:00 AM (Java Time), where facilities are available before the trek. The challenging, yet scenic, hike to the crater takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Reaching the summit rewards visitors with the breathtaking turquoise crater lake, its striking color a result of high sulfur content. The area is famous for unique sulfur mining and, in the early morning, the otherworldly blue flames caused by ignited sulfur gas.

Kawah Ijen Tour Schedule
Your journey begins with pick-up in South Bali (Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur, or Ubud) around 7:00 PM (19:00), or from the Lovina Area at 9:30 PM (21:30). We aim to arrive at Gilimanuk Harbor by midnight (12:00 AM). Your driver will guide you through the 1.5 hour ferry journey across the Bali Strait.
Upon arrival in Java at 12:30 AM (Java Time), our Bali driver will guide you umtil meet your local driver for the transfer to Paltuding (Ijen’s main parking area), arriving around 1:45 AM. The trek starts promptly at 2:00 AM to ensure you reach the summit in time to witness the Blue Fire and the beautiful sunrise.
After enjoying the views, we will head back down, arriving at the parking area around 7:30 AM for a rest. The drive home aims for an arrival in Lovina around 1:00 PM (13:00) or South Bali around 4:00 PM (16:00).
